Can you weld Steel to aluminum? Robby your better off laying steel strips along the bottom and top of the subframe and reinforcing it like that cause if you place it vertical then it will just collapse or snap off if its hit again. Just my .02

Re: 12 0clock gone bad......

Sorry Robby, some friends came over this evening. What GSXRking said is correct, it would just cause the subrame to break on one side of the steel plate which would have to be bolted in. My idea would be to insert a small plate similar to what was done in the front right behind the break and then run a steel strip from the lower front corner to the back of the subframe (thanks JoeJoe for that idea)

The front of the frame has a bunch of cracks and the fiaring stay is toast. I will get with you late tomorrow morning.

Re: 12 0clock gone bad......

Here are a couple pics, from the rear the whole subframe is pushed off to the right about 3/4 inch. The only time that will be an issue is when scraping a 12, I am thinkin to offset the scrape plate so it is centered with the bike. The second pic is the bracing I was thinking of.

I AGREE PAUL I THINK CENTERING IT WITH THE BIKE IS THE BEST WAY. I DONT THINK THAT YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE. YOU CANT REPLACE THE SUBFRAME, I THINK HE WILL JUST HAVE TO WORK WITH THAT. JOEJOE
