Re: black rob (powder coating)

Whats up guys? My large oven (8X8) is back-ordered for another 3 weeks. I have a smaller oven I can do smaller items in (under 22"). My "middle" sized oven should be in this week (4 footer). Plus I just ordered "curing lights" for really large items that I can use if need be.

The frame (if you can wait) I can do for about $250. That's a hundred dollars off a local powder coating shop's price (www.prismpowderusa.com) in Wareham.

The 16" wheels I can do for about $55 each or $200 for the set (provided you want a "stock color" ie: black, red, blue, yellow, orange, white, silver, "chrome", etc. Any transparant, metallic, or candy colors are a two stage process, and cost a little more.

And the 600RR swingarm would be about $70.

All my prices reflect all prep and cleaning. I degrease, media blast, wash, and sand or grind down all items before coating. I can also disassemble anything for a price should someone choose not to do it themselves. I can also pick up and deliver locally in Ma/Ri. I carry about 20-30 colors on hand and can get over 800 colors within 2 days. Powder coating will cover a lot of inperfections, however I can only guarantee a finish as good as the metal it's going on. In other words, rot, pits, or serious defects will not always come out. For metals with serious pits, warps, etc., I recommend using a textured powdercoat. It's a finish that is raised and lowered in areas that comes out in a wrinkle or vein effect. Anyone feel free to call my shop (508) 759-2142.

Re: black rob (powder coating)

Oh yeah, I also have clear coat powder coat I can apply over any color or a polished item. And I can do media blasting by itself if anyone just wants that service.

My closest competition (www.prismpowderusa.com) says $120 for a 16" motorcycle wheel. Black Rob says I can do it to a 17"/18"/19" wheel for $85 a wheel in a stock color. Translucents or candies are more .

And yes mystic, I have different colored flip-flop (chameleon), sparkle, translucents, and I can get trick and do fades or two tones . I can also add colored flake to any color you fall in love with. And send you buddy over. I got high temp. powder for engine parts.

*** Keep in mind these are SL member prices. Trying to hook you guys up cuz your like family. I'd probably charge some random guy that came to my shop on a Harley $100 a wheel***

Hey man, whats up? I told you $10-15 cuz I really couldn't see them well enough to judge them on the website. Plus you told me some were already chromed and needed to be stripped, which can be a b*tch. Just by looking at them online (which doesn't give me a good depth or size to go by) I figured $10 if I had to strip, prep, and powder something smaller (gun "chamber" or revolver-sized). If it was a larger than that "gun size" I figured $15 tops. You said it wasn't really cost effective for you at $10-15 for your prices. If you put a (+20 or +25) for powdercoating like you do chrome or anodizing and charge it to your customers then it is. I don't want to tell you how to run your business, and I understand everyone wants to make a buck and you want to make them most you can. I tried giving you a "client" price. If someone came to me to get a set of those done, I'd probably say $20. Not because I want to be a *****, but theres a point where I need to make money for my time and labor. I can't give things away. I try to help out friends and family. I also try to make things affordable. I don't want to rape anyone on prices. That's not me. As you can see, I'll do a frame for like $250. I don't know of another PCing business that can touch that. Thats damn near my cost to do it. Figure running a 8x8x8 oven for an hour or two to bake it. Plus powder costs, degreaser, and electricity for the compressor to run for the 2 hours it'll take me to glass bead the frame. Then the wipe down with "prepping solution". It gets expensive. The local PCing place is $350 without the subframe. See, I want customers to be happy and come back. I can do a rim for $55 cuz it's a 16" car wheel (one-sided to coat, and pretty easy to sandblast). So you see, it's really not cost effective if I get a pair of those a week or whatever to do them for under $10. To stop other work or put yours in front of a $250 job isn't worth it to me. After all is said and done, I might make a dollar off that. Anything less and I pay for it to get done, which I can't do. You claimed to have a guy that want's to do them for $5 and another guy for $3. I think thats awesome. Frankly, I wish I knew them because I'd hire them to do all my work and charge my prices for it, lol/jk. . But seriously, I wanted to do it for ya. If $10 is ok, we can work something. I'd really like to do your work. I don't know what kind of volume your working with, but I don't really care. I'm all about customer service. No hard feelings either way you choose. I think your a cool guy and I like your products. It's nothing personal but thats the truth. I quit my job and put my life savings into this. I can't afford to pay out of my pocket to make it free to someone else. Gimme a call or something.

Why all the hostitlity? You never said nor did I ever see a post about 1000 of them. Show me where, cuz I never saw it. I'm being honest, not trying to be a dick or have "bad business" as you call it. I explained the situation as it was presented to me. Even over the phone you said you had a "couple that you already chromed, that need to be pc'ed in black". If your talking 1000, that I'll have in my hand to do, of course I can match it; at least! I was under the impression that I was to do a few of them. I even said "gimme a couple that I'll do them for free to show you the quality and finish". Thats good business in my book. I never flat out said "no way", or treated you like sh*t or anything. If it's quantity then we can work it out. I don't know your business, and how much you make/sell. I figured it was a couple here and there. As they were purchased I would do them, a few a week. So if you got no problems or issues with "my work ethic" , gimme a call. If theres a quantity I can do them real cheap. It's my fault for not asking the volume you have. I apoligize for that. Let's talk, we can work it out.

I'm buying a small chrome kit and an anodizing kit as well. I don't know how good they'll work, but I'll try. When I get them I'll do a couple for ya, see if the finish is as good as what your getting now. I'll also do polishing. I can't put chrome tanks in here, the town won't let me. I tried. Bourne f*cking blows . But now that the inspections are done I can do small plating with the smaller kits. I do have chrome and mirror silver powdercoat
