Would a smaller front sprocket give you more engine break or a larger rear sproket. Or does it matter if you use a smaller front sprocket vs a larger rear sprocket? E=MC^2

 

gearing is gearing isn't it? be it a 50 tooth front sprocket & a 900 tooth rear, or a 3 tooth front & 35 rear.

its just the size ratio right?

Im -2 +12. same as being -1 + 15 or -0 + 18. I think

just confused myself.

So your telling me you banged you mouth on the coffe table and for every tooth you knocked out your partner went up 3 or 4 times in your rear?

nope, to cancel out you need to up or down on both.
+1 front +3 rear cancels
-1 front and -3 rear cancels


No to be a true pimp you would get the biggest rear sprocket they make. Then adjust the front either + or - to compensate.

 

the size of your sprocket is your pimp status. Ive got a 55 tooth rear now - im movin' up :YEAH

 

what happened? i missed it. i didn't know about it. i would have came. it looked like it was awesome. saw some pics of the event. it looked like fun.
