its great having a girl that is an accountant. I have a gambling problem, donated to hurricane katrina, i hate the colored - i mean donated to them so much more than last year, damn economy. give & donate to everyone!

Erroneous. You can only write off the cost of any winning tickets for which income is reported.

The one benefit that Massachusetts' law does provide is the fact that you can deduct the cost of the wager from your winnings versus Federal law where you can only deduct gambling losses (to the extent of winnings) as a miscellaneous itemized deduction subject to the 2% floor.

Just a little tid-bit of information to throw out at cocktail parties.

I know nothing about taxes. I do know I only collected 9 legitimate paychecks in 2006. That was all in the first few months of the year.
