******* sick!!! Yesterday was incredible if you like riding pow but they're still not all the way open though not as much as I want them to be.

 

there are a few different types of drill press chucks and the most common is just a tapered chuck that is pressed into the drill , that type of chuck does not do well with alot of side load but like you mentioned will work fine with aluminum or wood and if you are careful and you can do some light milling on mild steel if you go slow but for any real mill work to be done on a drill press you would be better off with a chuck designed for milling but unfortunately most drill presses will not accept that type of chuck and like niner said a 4 way cross vise can be used but for tight tolerances a real mill table would be better ..

i used a 4 way cross vice to make alot of things out of aluminum but wouldnt even consider using it on steel for any thing more than just milling for some extra clearance or slight shaping ..

the one on the right is a common drill press chuck with a simple taper and can very easily come loose while milling



this is a common mill chuck /collet and is designed for side load



there is a threaded rod that holds the collet in place not shown in the picture

I've never ridden real powder but I had a tough time with mashed potatoes. I like corduroy. As long as Tote Road and King's Landing are open, I'm happy. Are the parks set up yet?

 

I hate the cold

 

Yeah riding powder is tough I was too tired at 12 to make it through the day. Yeah the parks open it looks pretty good but I haven't hit a jump yet this year.

We found 2 cysts and a tumor on my 4 year old pitbull. She's my girl, I take her with me everywhere. The cysts were on her paws. She couldn't even walk outside without them busting open and bleeding. The tumor was on her spine right near her tail. Still waiting on the biopsy. I will be a mess if she has cancer. No joke...absolutely crushed. My wife sewed her up a little custom t-shirt to wear with velcro on it everywhere for adjustments so that she doesn't have to wear the cone on her head. Here's some pics...
