Make sure you get the start stop switch that is says in the ad. It allows the use of a lanyard on the 650sx. That alone is worth $40-60.

To build up the power I want the 44 super BN, a low restriction air filter, aftermarket pipe and waterbox, and either shave the stock head or get and after market pipe, right? I also want a stock ride plate, and D cut it after I get used to it? Top loader grate too? And a low pitch prop and freestyle cone? Already got the quick turn plate and low degree bars. I plan on mostly freeride/ ******* around so bottom end is more of a concern than top end. Don't plan on looking into impellers, cone, top loader grate, or high compression head until I get used to it unless I find a smoking deal. Do the MSD boxes really do all that much?

 

Well **** a 44 carb for now. Don't need the extra power to make it sketchier to learn on.

 

Edit, never mind I realized it is out of a TS. Hess i need to find a new source on some parts like the throttle cable. Engines are the same right?

 

Water boxes make it loud. Keep the stocker, drill it out if you must. Definitely get a top loader and impeller. You can mod the stock exhaust to dry it out. Pipes are expensive and not worth it for the 650sx. I don't know how good the stock ride plate is for the kawi. D cutting it will make the nose ride real high. Most people have trouble keeping the nose down on the kawi. Sometimes you can find a high compression head for pretty cheap on the X. You could have yours milled if you want. I have no idea about the wet wolf cones or MSD boxes in the Kawis. They are popular upgrades for the yamahas.

 

No lanyards on the 650sx. You can take the face of the 650 TS start/stop switch and screw it onto yours to use a lanyard. That's what I did.


All kawi 650s are the same.

 

Mine has trouble getting out of the water well with the 28mm. I'm swapping in a 38mm carb this winter.

 

Do you know what parts off the TS that are interchangeable? I guess I can always error on the safe side and give the **** away that doesn't work. The exhaust pipes aren't interchangeable are they?

No idea on what swaps. The exhaust might fit. At least the manifold looks the same. Do you have the stock exhaust from the 650? I have an extra aluminum stinger and a couple header pipes. I don't have the front half of the expansion chamber. I also have an extra stock water box.
