I'm not going to put alot of money into it. An exhaust is cheap. I would get the exhaust to make it sound better not really for hp. Cause god knows it wouldnt add anything. Unless I get a full system from the headers back

You're going to put more money into the engine than the car is worth to put 150 HP to the rear wheels?

I did just tlak to my mechanic though, he said that 355 will bolt right on my car, just need a new throttle linkage, wireing harness, and a few other things.

That's the way to go. That thing would be a monster. You said it's a 5 speed, right. Sweet ride. I love mullet wagons.

If you flow more air, you'll lean out. If you're already rich, that's fine. If not you'll have to add more fuel. Either way, you'll make more power. But I bet you'd be surprised at how little power you actually make. Especially on a 305 from the early 90's. Dude, give it up. You're better off saving your money for a different motor.
that motor has a ***** cam from the factory. the valves just arent open enough, cam and aftermarket heads are the way to go on a 305

Changing the air filter on a stock engine will not help a lot. And yes, Jegs sells tons of stuff that does nothing. Have you seen the "Tornado"? I'm sure they sell those. A single bolt on item, even expensive ones, rarely give much performance. It takes many matched parts to make real gains. There's no such thing as cheap horsepower.
