Get a set of forks and weld the tubes in place. I wonder how that would work?

probably really good on perfectly smooth pavement and really shitty on not as smooth pavement.

we could try strapping them down like drag racers do

The secret is skill and *****. You have to have a ton of at least one to roll super far. Weight just puts you from 850' to over 1,000.

No, the weight lowers the balance point of it, which makes the forks less prone to get sloppy.

Because there is nothing driving it but the momentum of the bike. And the brakes will kill that momentum eventually.

Wouldn't some 1.5 rate springs do the same thing?

It's the same as a wheelie. In front of the balance point means speeding up and behind it is slowing down.

It's just speeding up is a lot more dangerous.

Any weight on the opposite side of the pivot lowers how high you have to be.

Maybe with a chain driven system it might work out. With a hydraulic system I thin there would be too much "softness" in the power. They intentionally made the system so there is no way the front tires can go faster than the rear and the power to the front is weak.
