$105 is a sick deal for a 160 amp alternator

 

If it's the alternator DB is replacing it for free. And it looks like that guy isn't building cables anymore so that is pretty much useless.

I need to take some time off from building cables due to a knee injury and family issues (my wife and I are expecting twins). Therefore, I have disabled the "custom order page. After my knee heals and I've made progress on getting the house ready for the twins, I'll start selling these again. I hope to begin selling these again by the end on March 2009. Until then we will be selling parts only.

I'm thinking it is the alternator. The battery light now comes on anytime the engine RPM's drop below 1,000. Before the new batteries it was around 1,400. I'm going to call up DB electric and bitch at them.

 

It would be helpfull to know if the battery light on my truck is voltage based or amperage based.

so....i just preboarded...i got a18 on my first part of the flight...which means 3 people beat me. after my layover i got a41...which means 26 people are faster than me at preboarding....i'm going to mean mug all of them tomorrow when i'm at baltimore!

I called up DB electric. I told them the symptoms, and I was about to get super pissed when the guy said "well it's out of warranty (by 29 days), I'll let you talk to our tech and maybe he can help you" But then he got back on the phone and said "Our tech told me that if you ship it back to us he will fix it for free".

 

The alternator I have is supposed to put out 110 amps at idle and the full 220 at 1,200 rpms.

 

Time to see if I won the lotto.

It doesn't matter unless you are actually drawing that much power. Unless you have a killer stereo system or more lights than a UFO it won't matter one bit.
I'm going to bet it's your alternator.
