the cost of living out there on the east coast is out of control....i could get a nice 2 bedroom apt for $450 a month that would include my gas and water and trash. both of my kids would be in school so i wouldn't need daycare, or i would just need it for before and after school. my car would be paid off so no car pymt. it's so easy here...i really have no desire to move back to the east coast at all, i mean, it was cool that the ocean is right there, but whatever, that's what vacations are for.

Social Workers don't make **** unless you get your master's and then get licensed as a therapist. My wife is graduating with her masters in may. In 2 years she can become a licensed therapist and will hopefully start her own practice. That's when the big bucks come in. She could double my salary easily in about 5 years. So there is hope.

I mean living at home def saves...but i like having my own place...It's MINE! i figure i will get a giant refund this year and use that money for a downpayment. But i honestly have to look at something part time.

State Farm. My uncle's my agent, so I get like every discount they have, and none of my horrible driving record ever gets counted against me. If not for my uncle, my dui would have put me in the assigned risk pool.

 

i kinda screwed myself because i'm not going to be able to go back to school for several..several years. so i'm pretty much accepted the fact that i won't be able to get a 'good' job until my kids are alot older.

 

If I didn't have student lon payments I would be a baller.

i defintely don't want to go back to the hell hole that is NYC and work 12 hours a day for 100k ever again. i mean u can do the same thing, work tech in the city for 100 plus k...why don't u do it?

My cousin got to a point after 3 dui's that his insurance was $10/day for just liability on a 10 year old vehicle.
