z WEAR YO :helmet hey rodg i dont wear helmets i have found that wrappin my head in aluminum siding and duct tape does the trick!!!!!!!!!!!!(comments like these are caused by my wrecks on a quad with no helmet do be a sclevela wear a lid!)
The problem with the 3/4 style or anything less than a full face is that it's a proven fact that in MANY accidents, damage to the facial area occurs.
I have somehow never hit my head during a crash, but my friend has marks on the front of his helmet from crashing.. one of which was at like 10mph.
Obviously it's the riders choice. No one can dispute that. But it physically pains me to see people without at least a helmet on because I know what can happen.

For those of you who think wearing a helmet doesn't help in slow speed crashes try this:
Stand still and fall forward onto the concrete having only your face take the impact.
That's a crash at 0 mph!
Now your going to tell me a helmet doesn't really do anything during a slow speed crash?
However, this is a free world so do what you do. Just be safe:p

before i got into stunting i wanted to be seen. you know what i'm talking about guys, cruising down to the beach and letting the ladies see whoose riding that bike. now that ive been stunting ive changed to wear one, i still want to be seen, but i would definitly love to be seen the next day too. yeah, it sucked to get used to wear one but i like my life, so be smart and wear a lid.
plus i would like to continue to see you all at the shows.
see you all at the bike week show:p :p :p :p

I had a 100mph wheelie go bad and scrape marks 360 degrees around the helmet. Most damage was on the face shield. I dont think i would be here today without it. I hit my head so hard i couldnt stand for 4 days without blacking out and also couldnt talk for about 4 days. The only other gear i had on was gloves(i was out cruisin the beach that day) Needless to say it is rare for me to ride without my gear.

depends what im doing to whether or not i wear a helmut. if im just out cruising the strip not doing anything and its like 110 degrees out side i have on jeans and a t-shirt with gloves. most of the time i wear a helmut when out at night doing stunts or trips ect.
I have seen helmets get huge scrapes around them, cracks, and shields get scraped so bad you can not see through them. I did a shield scrape myself after doing a 40 mph low side knee dragging. Could have been a face scrape off. I feel helmets are a must 98% of the time although feel free to do what you like. Just remember you were told of this when your lips and nose are gone.

I like to wear a helmet, but it can be fun where there is no helmet law, if you are careful, I am a lot more aware when i have no helmet on...i can also hear all the disgusting noises my bike makes that it's not supposed to when i have no helmet on..

I had a low speed get off comin' home from the local hot spot 2 years ago. Bike was okay I had cuts on my face and all the front brackets on my braces knocked off
. Plus I lost a pair of big $$$$$ oakleys . I always wear my lid now , no matter how short the trip is .later , mike
helmets
i have to agree with my teammate mayer-z...gotta where them.there are a few people in our sport that are so in control.. and have it down but...you never know. what happened to kyle at stuntwars could have been real bad. anyway i'm nobodys mom but last summer we did a show at atco raceway in n.j. and during practice i was soooo hot...i took of my helmet and jacket. after a few min. of watching i started to ride a rollin burn out through the rear parking lot...i swear i didn't see the sand. first thing i thought as my melon hit was i'd have rather scratched my arai. which brings me to another point mayer=z and myself are both motorcycle salesman and have often wondered...if you are going to spend $11k on a bike why spend $125 on a cheap helmet? you guys do know that a couple of hundred bucks on a good, safe , comfortable helmet isn't hard to put in the financing..right?
patrick please don;t bring the turtle back..don't get pissed i damn sure think you are one of the most talented riders i've ever seen. .. but i thought you were old. i think it was the helmet. sorry.

Wear your Lid
There are two main reasons why riders choose not to wear a helmet:
1.) The Cool Factor
2.) The Comfort Factor
More than likely the riders that chose not to wear a helmet have not crashed yet. I have totaled 3 bikes and wrecked numerous amounts of times. I can safely say, that if it wasn't for my helmet I would either be dead or have serious brain damage. I can sit here and post pictures of all my damaged helmets, however I know that it still won't get the point across. The fact is some people just have to learn the HARD way. I just hope that they have a second chance in life to learn from their mistake
.
Just remember this...This sport isn't going anywhere fast if we the riders do not do it in a responsible manner.
