Need some input
Need some input
I finally decided my mountain bike is trash. I kind of want to go for a BMX bike since there is a lot less sh*t on it to break, and it has pegs. I want to know if anyone has stunted both a mountain bike and a BMX bike and what were the ups and downs of each. Basically, once I learned to wheelie the BMX, everything else would come pretty easy. Thanks for any suggestions.
P.S. I also need to know if disk brakes are better for endos and wheelies or any input on them. Here is a bike im looking at. http://sunandskibikes.com/itemdetail...gId=39&id=1925
one more bike- http://sunandskibikes.com/itemdetail...gId=39&id=1913

Re: Need some input
mountain bikes better all around.
BMX bikes have single gears....thus you can't go fast, and you can't go very slow. this makes circle real hard.
the short wheel base makes circles slightly tighter, but they are ALOT harder to get that tight, than a mountain bike.
trust me, stay on a mountain bike, just take care of it.

Re: Need some input
Well the reason im interested in a BMX bike is the acrobatic capabilities. I know there aren't very many more but I want to learn to do a christ and if I want to put pegs on my mountain bike, I need to find a longer rear axel which I imagine wont be easy. Maybe I'll end up buying a BMX and keeping the mountain bike for technical stuff.
Re: Need some input
i did them on my mountain bike without pegs. just gotta sorta stand on the bottom rails of the frame. watch the tips of your feet.
you'll get over that trick once you learn spreaders and circles. and esp. no handers.

Re: Need some input
Its not that I think that trick is amazing or anything, my cousin can do it who doesnt stunt, I just want to do a wider variety of things. I keep bending bolts on my mountain bike too. I've bent four of the bolts that keep the high end of the shock in place.
Re: Need some input
Still dont know whats going on here. The bolt is really bent now and I dont know what I could put on there that is strong enough to hold. Any idea on how IU could get a longer rear axel? Thanks for the input so far.
