Re: Gixxer is finally done!!!!!!

Bike is looking nice dude. Iv got a few suggestions from an experienced sixxer owner. U prolly already know this stuff but Ill throw it out there for u anyway. Hope it saves u some heart ache in the future.
1) gotta get a stuntex oil pick-up. These bike have pick up problems already and if u r gunna do any stunting on it (duh) it will be an issue. Better replace it for $30 or so now rather than replacing the whole motor.
2) Reinforce the sub frame. Weld sum plate between the legs or build sum straps (I think we'v talked about that already) U know these things are notorious for breaking subs and tabs off the frame. Such a pita.
3) 03 and up 750 front end is a great mod. Like a whole new bike. Amazing stoppies and better feel. Totally transforms the bike.
4) Iv never run an FI cage on mine but Iv heard alot of **** about em on the gixxer. The motor mount takes the brunt of the shock and on these models the frames are pretty weak. Iv had 905 on both of mine. I ****** hate em cuz they almost always contact right at the bend of the main bar and bow out causing the cage to bind up. PITA to get off and damn near impossible to get back on. Unless u take a torch and hammer to it. I hear Powers and SI are sick tho.
5) The front mount doesnt take much to bust. U can weld sum flat alum plate along the inside of the frame and bend a few 'tab' pieces under around the motor mounts to reinforce the frame.

Just FYI. Thought Id share what Iv learned the hard way so hopefully u can skip the crash course learning curve. Good luck w it dude. If u have any questions hit me up. Ill throw u everything I know about em.
