Re: Succesful dent & grand slam
grip tape is terrible. rips the **** out of your jeans and your ***. stomp grip works well if you apply it correctly. tech spec is even better and theres also some **** called safety walk by 3m if uc an find it, its liek a rubberized grip tape.

3M Safety Walk is not rubbish, it´s more like better skateboard grip tape, I use it on my rear pegs and it works great, but I´m sure in a tank dent it would also rip your jeans.

I'm sticking with my grip tape.
I don't get to ride as much as a lot of people, maybe thats why I don't notice it tearing up my jeans.
The only complaint I can say about grip tape is, I've hit it with my elbow.........that kinda hurts. lol

Re: Succesful dent & grand slam
When you put the bed liner on your tank did you strip off all the paint and apply it to the bare metal?
I bought some crap a few years back sprayed it on over the paint and It started pealing off, and when I spilled gas on it the bed liner started bubbling up.
Like I said that was a few years ago just wondering if the product changed or if it was the application

The brand I used is Dupli color, and this is the exact product
If you spary it wet it drys smooth, but if you spray really dry (thin coats) it will dry rougher with more grip....The good thing is no matter how you spray it or if it starts to wear off, you can always just add another coat...

If I let gas sit on it, it will turn that area a little white....But it doesnt eat the liner, just discolors is a little...I havent re sprayed my current tank in over a year....And this is what it looks like after a year with lots of gas spills
See the white at the bottom of the gas cap, thasts from spilt gas

Its a truck bed liner that comes in a spray can, here in Canada we have large chain stores called Canadian Tire that has an auto parts section....Im sure you can find it almost anywhere that sells auto paint in spray cans though...
