So in an atempt to made a boring night at work. I went ahead and made a fairing stay out of some scrap metal. Note all I hade was 3/4 o my stock stay, front fairing and no bike. Which i was worried about, because i didnt have anything to fit test or refer back too. Turns out when I got home and pu it on. It fit at planned!

If you ar wondering what the clear tubing on the stay is for. Its for vibration and noise... I think I am ging to swap it out for some black tubing though-

looks like it could twist/break at the round/flat weld... I'd throw in a gusset on each side to be safe. Looks good other than that

real men don't use welding gloves...lol

just kidding , i always wear one on my left hand

i always open the bag when i buy welding gloves and switch out all the right hand gloves

always check the bag cause there are left handed guys out there that do the same thing and that way you don't have to do it...lol

 

I always wear both gloves when im welding of course im burning rods not pulling a triger.....But i only wear my left one when im cutting

And i usually have my fat little head and arms stuffed up in a hole or something where i cant retreat very fast and hot slag doesnt feel to good rolling down your hand/arm

 

i use to hate having to weld over my head...that **** sucks

 

ya it sucks but i think i can run a vertical or over head weld better than anything else now cause i have had to do is so much but it does suck cause you get the ever living **** burned out of you....Ive been welding a hole bunch of Stainless 308 her the last year and a half it was kinda hard to get use to but that **** is pretty bad *** to weld now that i got the hang of it it looks like gold when your done..........Ive never welded it with a mig or tig tho just stick 308 stainless rods

 

******!!! I always seem to be the guy with two right gloves when I get home. All this time i have been blaining some underpaid migrant worker whom I thought didn't care what gloves went in the bag!

 

I always wear both gloves until **** is cold, have a habit of grabbing stuff without thinking

If/when I make another one I am going to use quality steel instead of scrap. something about pitted steel that really grinds my gears! lol
