Playing on the XR
Nice pics... I'd love to get my hands on a newer XR and tear it up for a bit. I've never been on any other than my 85. The bike doesn't run all that great and it really holds me back

If you are ever in Springfield, MO. give me a call and you are welcom to ride. We will run the **** out of these things!
My 1997 is faster than this '01. I can stoppie the '01 better though. The 97's came with a larger main jet than the 01. I purchased the larger main for the '01, however I have not yet installed it.
Here is a stoppie, however this was take as I was bringing it down so it is not very high.

I've heard of people putting CR85 front ends on for the Disc brakes..... Dunno how hard it is or anything though....
A race friend of mine from TX has put a regular CR80 front end on, but he put EVERYTHING including handle bars, grips, throttle, triples, tubes, wheel, etc.
We put Ferodo pads, lubed the cable and took the play out of the cable, cross hatched the brake hub, and they stop pretty good. It will flip you over (as I have proven he he).

Triple X down here has a TTR125 that I play around on sometimes.. I can roll like 150 feet on it... They roll like 200+ on it.

That is awesome. I cannot even roll 100 feet, mine end around 70 feet. I have coasters to around 110 feet without the scrape bar.

Got any new pics? My friend just got an 03 XR100 the other day and I swear the thing doesn't come up as easy as my 1985. It also doesn't wanna wheelie straight for ****. Pulls hard to the left.
I have more pics, just nothing exciting enough to post.
Yeah, I feel the newer ones are a bit down on power. I wouldn't know why it would pull to the left. You may check the spokes, make sure none are broken or *****. Also check that the rear axle is alingned properly, if it is off, it will wheelie wierd.

Yeah, we spent some time on the front brakes. I feel that I got mine pretty good. We: Put FERODO shoes on, lubed the cable, scuffed the wheel where the shoes grip, changed the brake shoe springs, and pulled out all of the slack out of the cable. We put it on a stand and adjusted out as much as we could letting the front wheel still spin freely.
Your 85 is a good bike, hard to beat.

I haven't even seen my 85 in weeks. Icehot borrowed it and that was the last I saw it! He keeps wrecking it
Everything is broken. Now he just went out and bought the 03 and now he has 2 XR100's and I have none
Does that mean we are the only 3 guys in the United States that play on these bikes?
Get your ride back and run that focker on Alcohol. WooHoo. power like a ****.
That brake stuff is a lot of work, but you only have to do it once. The FERODO shoes and springs are only $15 or so.
