Just hold it on the limiter that should clear things up. 
I'm having the same prob with mine. Haven't done the idle mod yet still waiting for the part to come in. But mine does the same thing after like riding for a hour or so it goes all nutty like the rpms start going up by then I just say f-it and park the thing. Sounds to me like you need to up grade.

yeah i wish i had the money to upgrade but i barely can scrounge up enuf to put gas in the tank..lol the bike only has 15,000 on it... should be good for a while..
