Re: All studded up, ready to crash

Sat. was fun, after about 2 hours of practice i was able to clutch the bike up, and ride a slow wheelie for quite a distance, you just had to watch out for snow drifts. We even did a 15 minute show for the races. Bike seemed to hook up better is unmolested areas of the ice, about one inch of snow on the ice.

Sun was terrible, it was very cold out and it didnt seem like my bike wanted to hook up at all, I crashed on sun after bringing it down from a wheelie, the bike slid out from under me, probably was going about 35. It didnt hurt at all i just slid a little ways. I was very padded up though. Bike sustained a broken brake resovior.

All in all it was a fun experience

how much did it cost you to, what kind of tires did you use. I did it once on a dirt bike, spent all night putting sheet metal screws in came out the next day and both tires where flat oh shat

stock tires but you have to cut a liner form a old tire and put it inside. then for studs we used cold cutter studs 1/4". cold cutter sent us free studs for the event and we got put in motorcycle usa mag for it. don't know when that copy is going to be out thought
