Re: stunt life competition

That would suck if it's a no go. It was nice to have something that was local.

Re: stunt life competition

its a no go unless someone else wants to host it at another trak i would help then. but never again at GLD i want nothing to do with them. Shugga was also interested if it was at another track. i just don't have the wheel power to find the motivation. don't get me wrong it was a blast to do the comp there just wasn't a light at the end of the tunnel. i understand we need better advertisment. but lets say we find another track to get this going i need at least 450 in the seats to pay just the winnings. Hell looking at 2004 spread sheet we payed out 9050 in winnings, 2575 insurance, 1500 flyers, 400 announcer, 308 staf shirts, 12000 a day for track rental x2, 800 for sound which is $38,633 / $20 = 1900 plus people in the seats just to make ends meet. yeah sure a different track would be cheaper if we go else where but my major thought is what happens if we don't fill the seats just like in 2006 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then where does the money come from to pay the bills gov. grants Ryan S you remember alabama? Becca, i believe, ate most of the cost . dont get me wrong that was a blast but i couldn't afford that. SO once again I'm open for some help and motivation

it would be nice to see every one again but working on a track and everything else for the summer is to short notice! what we need to to is contact some bigger company's and some different tracks for the 2008 event and see if we can do something like that! i would put the time into it again! i like setting up events like this. but as greg said it great lakes drag way can kiss my *** if they want us to bust are *** for them setting this up for nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: stunt life competition

personally I think there wasn't enough promoting. I never even seen so much as a flyer at the bike shops here in Kenosha / Racine. It seemed every year less and less people showed up, hell I didn't even go to the last event cause it was gay the year before. What we need around here is an event with an atmosphere like elkhart lake 2003, you know a place where at least 3 or 4 people are guaranteed to be hospitalized, and many more arrested, from doing something stupid. So Ryan S, find a run down campground overlooking a nice 4 lane road with little traffic somewhere, and lets start a new yearly tradition.

Re: stunt life competition

kev-----that would be TIGHT as hell.....ahhhhhh the good ol days of road america.....

byron has TOLD me that they would be willing to work with somebody on this event, i'm very good friends with the owners of the track and vmc has been doing shows at byron for the last 3 years straight.....if anybody wants their contact information i would be more than willing to hand that over and put you in contact with the correct people.....

another possible place would be blackhawk farms, if we had it there we would have the BEST possible surface to EVER hold a comp on, it's MINT, and also can offer overnight camping-----which would be fun as hell, i can also get you the information for the person to conact for blackhawk farms...i gurantee you would have to rent the entire facility for the weekend, but admission, sponsors, food sales can and WILL pay for the event itself if done correctly..........

the first year of the comp HAS to be ran as if it will be a break even situation, to prove to sponsors that it's going to benefit them.... ie, lets say rock river powersports sponsors the event, talk to 94.1 wjjo to run advertisements on the radio and announce all the sponsors on the radio add, get sponsors that will help promote the event, possibilities are endless.

i can help in getting contacts such as sponsors for the event and a place to have it, but i don't want any part in running the event because 07 i'm going to be competing as much as possible and if there is an event close to home i for damn sure want to be able to ride in it.....

and thirdly, don't waste time on trying to get stunt riders to attend, stunt riders hear about events no matter what and the average public doesn't know kyle woods from joe blow......main focus needs to be on filling seats.

Re: stunt life competition

Too much work, I'd rather ride then spend all my free time organizing, and advertising for an event like that. And for what? You dont make any money, And thats why I was out of the loop on it several years ago. If someone else wants to organize one go ahead, just call it something else.
