Freestyle Lifestyle Ryan

I just wanted to give you props for coming up with the rear peg setup on the helmet lock tab on the DRZ. I put one on mine and that chit rocks. When I tried it out for the first time last Friday, it was ackward and made my leg hurt so I couldn't get it up that high, but I figured out the basics of it. Didn't mess with it again until tonight and like magic I was getting it up every time and riding it out. I would just barely get it rolling at like 2 mph, slip the clutch and up she goes right to BP. Its definitely ackward sticking your leg back that far at first (now I don't even notice) but once you get it up it is comfortable as hell and the control is phenomonal. So again, thanks.

Couple of questions while I have your attention

1. Do you use that peg for faster stuff or just for first gear?

2. I won't be ready for a 12 bar for awhile, but did you make yours or did you buy it?

3. Are you running stock gearing?

I actually made my 12 bar it's kind of like a ooohhhhh $hit bar. I don't really do any bar tricks on it It's just there in case and it's fun to scrap too. I'm running a 52 in the rear. that's got no top end but it's great for slow stuff, I only use the rear peg for slow $hit. It's a little unstable @ 35+ seat stander are more comfortable @ those speeds. I had to move my peg to the rear frame because I broke the helmet tab off. It's not very strong FYI!

Did you break it off in a crash or while riding? I kind of thought that it wouldn't hold up in a crash but if it weakens just from standing on it maybe I will relocate it right away and save my *** or just some trouble down the road. Where did you mount the peg on the subframe, right above where it was? I'll have to take a look at it, but from memory the subframe didn't seem thick enough to take a bolt through it, but maybe I'm wrong.

I moved it to the frame right above the tab, It broke off try to do circles around a light pole and I bit it. w/ the 12 bar there is enough metal for a large bolt to go throught the frame

Re: Freestyle Lifestyle Ryan

As long as it won't break while I'm riding it for the immediate future I am cool with it being on the helmet tab. I went out and looked at the bike this morning and noticed that there is already a hole in the subframe right about at that spot it would need to go, (not sure what it was for) so maybe I will just enlarge it and run it through there. Wouldn't mind having my helmet lock back on there anyway.

I relocated the peg to subframe. Kind of sits on a little bit of a funny angle now but its not noticeable when riding.
