type phone# get map......

Hey everyone,
I got this from a friend of mine and decided it was something that I should post. My phone number wasn't available but my friends number was and it gave me directions to her house. Great to find a friends house, but say you give your # to someone at a bar, you are now giving them the address to there house...........
Talk to you later!!!!!! :YEAH

Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type
someone's telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and then
you will be given a map to their house.

Please look up your own number. Read below for details. Think about it--if a child,
ANYONE gives out his/her phone number, someone can actually now look it
up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and alarming.

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to:
www.google.com. Type your phone number in the search bar and hit enter.

If you want to BLOCK Google from divulging
your private information, simply click on the line above your name
information ("Phonebook results for..."). You will need to submit a form for removal ("PhoneBook Removal Form"). Removal takes
48-hours.

If you are unlisted in the phone book, you might not be in
there, but it is a good idea just to check. If your number does come up hit map, it will show you a direct map to your house.

This has always been available but in a less robust way. Since it's begining, White Pages.com has allowed reverse lookups for published numbers....

.....giving you the name and address of said party. Then simply put the address into Mapquest, or similar application, and you've got an easy map.

I used this back in 1997-ish when my car was broken into and my cell phone stolen from me. I got a list of numbers that were called to from my phone after it was stolen and did reverse lookups to find who was being called. A couple of visits later and I had the name of the person who stole my **** (though no other proof for the cops)....and he got his up-and-comings.
