Just wanted to say this....
Just wanted to say this....
i saw chris (chocha) walkin in the bar last night when i was on my way out... he tells me that he is done riding cuz of all of this $hit that has been goin on with rick.. listen people.. rick is a great person and him and i get a long very well. it was a sponsor thing at first, but he's not just a sponsor, he's my boy and what happened to him hit a lil close with me too.. maybe not as close as others since maybe they hang out with him more often or have known him long, but it hit close nonetheless. with that being said, now i can continue to the part where selling your bike JUST because of ricks decision making is completely stupid. we all have these bikes for a reason, it takes you away from everything and its a source of total freedom. just ride the damn things! when those bikes are in neutral with the kickstand down, they dont move! they arent a dangerous thing. are they capable of being a dangerous thing?? sure. what isnt though? i guess what im saying is that while it sux what happened to rick, dont give up somethin you enjoy and love doing because he made a bad judgment on his bike... ***** just rediculous. the event of an ALERT, RESPONSIBLE RIDER being put in a situation that he CAN NOT get out of on a machine thats as nimble as these bikes are is kinda rare. **** fate.. you take care of yourself and you will be fine. if something does happen, it happens.. dont walk on eggshells waitin for it to come around though.. just be CAREFUL!!!!!
Re: Just wanted to say this....
I agree with ya, Ronnie. In my opinion, if its your time, its your time. No amount of preparation or caution is gonna change it. I wish Rick a full and quick recovery...I don't know him, but I still feel for him and his loved ones. One other thing I want to add is the old standby saying-"I'm getting old, so I need to calm down." It drives me crazy. You get old because you let yourself get old. Look at Schwartz, he's older (sorry, Bro
) and he's showing up kids half his age. Hell, my Dad is 53, and he bought a CBR954 2 years ago.

I don't post up much here and this ain't directed at anyone but I have to agree. Give up cars cause your buddy got in a car accident? Give up taco bell cause your dad had a heart attack? Goes on and on. Even a fool can learn from thier own mistakes, so learn from everyone elses too. Ride within your limits and be aware of what's going on and you'll most likely do just fine. Anytime I've had a spill it was my fault in one way or another. But don't quit riding. As I'm sure you've heard before, I'd rather live one day as a lion than 100 years as a lamb. :YEAH
Re: Just wanted to say this....
Dude. I have lost alot in this world due to motorcycles. My grandfather and grandmother stopped riding because of a crash that shot a stick up the leg of a fellow rider. My uncle died because of a semi that crossed the center line. A friend from school died because he decided to park his race bike without a helmet(he was 7yrs old, he lost his footing and his head was penetrated by a nail in the garage). I lost my bro in 2001 in a accident on his Aprillia.........but I have learned this much. You go out when it is your time. Nothing can stop it and nothing will prolong it. Life is meant to live, and you 'better live it to its fullest. Motorcycles have been "to blame" for a long time. Rick sounds like he loved to ride so honor that love and ride your *** off.

Re: Just wanted to say this....
Bottom line ride responcable.
Stupid is what stupid does Even my dad was riding stupid and lost his life on his bike at the age of 36.
I don`t care who you are or how good you are. Save the hot doggin for where it belongs, on the tracks or where ever but keep it off the streets and you and everbody else will be safer

I guess anything can happen to anyone at anytime... you limit the chances of something happening and I think thats where gettin rid of the bike comes into play.
I'm not speaking for Chris, it was just the impression I got after talking to him.
A really good friend got seriously injured, as many of our fallin friends have. Some people just dont want to take that chance.. no matta how big or small it may be.
And yes... errrbodies got one.. :YEAH

Your risk is what you make it and the chances you take are all up to you. Im sure somewhere there is a case study on the life expectancy of someone who rides a motorcycle for a number of years. With that in mind im also sure there is a case study on someone who travels on a plane 3 times a week and what his/her odds are of seeing retirement.
What it boils down to is basically this, when you go to the casino how much loot do you take with you???? Spend the house payment and the money for the kids dinner and you gonna have some problems. Take just enough to have a good time and your straight. That risk is a decision you have to make, same as the decision you make when you twist the throttle.
I rode ten years with a clean slate, in 2001 stuntin took off and we all wanted to be the #1 stunna. I went down twice that year and one of em landed me in surgery. I gave that part of the game up and stuck to enjoying what I had enjoyed for years. I made a decision about the risk I was willing to take.
Chris if you wanna make your odds better and not take that risk, I give you props for makin a decision and standing by it.
Jay, im not sure your statement was a fair one.
At any rate the best thing WE ALL can walk away from this with is that we know our love for this game has some risk involved, be careful out there and stay within your limits. BE SAFE GUYS!!!

i think busta said it best when he said "At any rate the best thing WE ALL can walk away from this with is that we know our love for this game has some risk involved, be careful out there and stay within your limits. BE SAFE GUYS!!! " it really all boils down to exactly that
