Question Welders

Anybody weld aluminum?

I need a bracket welded to my swingarm and don`t really want to take off the swingarm

Not to change the subject on ya,but.Hey Tunergirl. I understand you're related to a Stock Car Driver that I used to root on @ Mt.Clemens race track back in the early 80's when I was a kid.The #1 Miller Car. Track champion in 82 I think. Small world.I thought I had his autograph,but it looks like I only have a couple of picture's

You do know you can buy a new liner for your torch, aluminum wire for your spool and change gas and you can MIG aluminum....its not always the prettiest thing, but it works in a pinch....TIG'd will be better in the long run, less high heat distribution and better penetration and cleaning of the welded surfaces.

I have a mig in my garage with aluminum wire and gas but i cant weld good enough, and if the bottle comes off at 150 mph I`m going down
