I need a vehicle appraised.

I know its a little late, but I need to have a vehicle appraised. It is a 1998 Nissan 240SX with alot of modifications, all high performance. The insurance company is shooting for a totall loss on it and trying to lowball me really bad so I need to get an appraiser.

it was fast...until it died...pooof...up in flames with me driving...I hate letting others work on my **** and now I am going to take it dry for this one. I bought it fully built..I did not want to take the time to build a car so I bought it this way...guess I should have taken the time.

That sucks bro.. Hope it works out.. Losing your *** on cars is never fun.. I have done it many times.. Best was when my pimped out 84 Monte Carlo SS went up in flames in my driveway.. This was after I had shut it off and walked up my driveway.. Of course it was wired with a toggle swtich start, but thats a different story..

Re: I need a vehicle appraised.

Insurance companies suck.

My family had a fire two years ago and we lost three vehicles. I had an Integra with some modifications, they wouldn't take them into consideration when appraising the vehicle.

However, the insurance company was lowballing my dad on his truck. So, he found every advertisement that he could for the same truck with similar miles, etc and faxed it to them. Eventually the insurance company gave him more money.

It sucks but mods have no effect whatsoever an the value of a vehicle. Uness its a straight up race car, as in not street legal..

The only way the insurance companies will reimburse you for "modifications" is if you insure those too. But even then, they must be legal modifications and inspected by the state.

Re: I need a vehicle appraised.

yeah, sorry to say... but unless you let them know ahead of time what kind of mods are into it, and what they are worth... and you pay a premium that reflects those modifications... you are NOT going to get your money back for them.

Sad but true.

Your best bet is to make sure you get money for all of the OTHER stuff that was in the car. Your CDs, your leather jacket, your golf clubs, etc...
