Good places online for leathers

It came up at the meeting last night that some people were looking for full leathers for track days. Here are some places that I've dealt with online that have good prices and customer service. Figure it would save you guys the trouble of searching

www.newenough.com
This place is great!! The customer service is the best I've ever dealt with using any online company. If your not sure about a size, call them, they are really good with fitting you properly. Check the clearance section from time to time. I managed to get a brand new full Teknic Lightening 1 peice for $360 shipped to my door.

www.helmetharbor.com
Good place for lids, they carry a good selection, prices are good.

www.kneedraggers.com
parts, leathers, lids... you name it. I got my slip on from them, shipped pretty quick.

www.pipecity.com
haven't dealt with them directly, but a great place to go exhaust shopping

If I think of anymore, I'll post up.

If someone doesn't want to shell out the money to buy full leathers without knowing if they want to do more trackdays... trackoholics rents out suits you'd want to email Jim to find out the cost and the sizes available... jim@trackoholics.com or visit his website for more details on what other gear he'd have for you as well...www.trackoholics.com

If anyone doesnt wanna shell out major cash look at the agv sport ****. I purchased the vortex 2 peice for 408 with shipping. It's kinda ugly but who cares. The quality is up to par with everything else.... :YEAH

First .....your link don't work.

Secondly (Not directed toward you solely) ..........Think about this!!! Remember when you heard "you get what you pay for"??? Well............. with the cheaper leathers your putting your skin, muscles and bones in jeapordy here. Ya it's great to get a deal on something BUT YOUR WEARING THAT LEATHER FOR A IMPORTANT REASON LIKE GOING ROADRACING ON A TRACK. These $300-$500 leathers are not even that great for the street .............LET ALONE THE TRACK!!! Think about this entering the straight you could be doing close to 100mph (most people 60-70 mph) and gaining speed down the straight up to 140-165 mph. Now it's quite known that people will spook you when they pass but if he passes you on the straight and your going 150mph and freak out and crash them leather's are going to be garbage. Seen one of them leather places specified 1.5 mills ( ) GOOD LUCK!!!! To me I would get a higher priced one nothing lower than $800 and shouldn't have to spend more than $1200 on a very good leather (like a SYED leather). You make the choice on how valuable your skin is.........I KNOW HOW MUCH MINE IS WORTH!!

Thumbs down Re: Good places online for leathers

i'd strongly recommend against mawonline their shipping and return policies are absolutely awfull! i ordered Joe Rocket jackets last summer one that they sent was defective, the other, they sent the wrong jacket twice! in the end, i was stuck with the two jackets that i ordered, plus the defective jacket as well as one of the wrong jackets; they in turn, charged my credit card for four jackets! i managed to sell the extras on ebay at a $225 loss... joe rocket was great though, the fixed the defective jacket gratis and told me that mine was not the first complaint that theye'd heard re: motorcycle accessory warehouse. Avoid Them at All Cost!

http://www.mawonline.com

Sorry forgot the .com ****.

The agv 2 peice i purchased has 1.4 mm cowhide. All the same thickness and density pads of any other brands suits. Thats why i got it. Im not saying your wrong cuz it's obvious your right. I just cant afford to drop 800 - 1200 on leathers. I wish i could but it's not happening at this point. Im looking for boots right now and again im leaning towards agvsport. I just cant see paying 2x as much for the same ****...

Your welcome Adam.....now ChoCha about the Jam..

Now to comment on Jokers statement, which is true, save some extra money and get the better leathers, doctors bills are alot more then a few hundred bucks, I know from experience.

I totally agree with you. The main reason I feel I got such a deal on my Teknic suit is I read of ton of reviews on it first. Those that had crashed in it, all came out good. It held up great, and was stated to be a good lower end suit. If I had the loot, I'd be rockin a high end Dianese or Alpine stars. I'm pretty happy with Teknic overall though, never heard anyone complain about their leathers. Now the AGV low end suits....... I've heard a lot of people complain.

Re: Good places online for leathers

Joker is right, buy a good set and buy them once. I know people that have gone down in cheap leathers and road rash is a biatch. Get a good back protector and hard armor. I have Syed's and they cost a bunch, but they are great fitting and are made of some thick *** leather as well as hard and soft armor with back protector.

Thats kinda crazy.. Teknic was my other choice but i heard from multiple people that they're zippers are shitty and burst very easily. Thats why i went with the agv. No complaints from aT least 2 people that supposedly wrecked in them..

oh well, no matter what anyone says its still better than shorts and a t shirt..
