Hey You...Check this out....

Just to fill you in, over the weekend there was a house fire in St. Clair County, where three children died, and their step-father nearly died in an attempt to save them. The step-father lived but is suffering with second and third-degree burns to his face and body. This is a long time friend of my family. It was even more upsetting to me, as one of the kids was the same age as "Lil Opp". I can not even begin to imagine burying my child, let alone, three of my children and a grandchild. I know many of you have kids, nieces, nephews, younger brothers or sisters....so please take a moment and let me know if there is any way you can give us a hand...I've already attempted contact with some news stations and one radio station. There's not to much I can really "advertise" until I have a place to hold this. A Facility will definetely be in place by tomorrow afternoon....Read below for further details.

I've decided tonight that I am going to throw together a "garage sale" to raise money to donate to this family. If any of you are in the area, have clothes, furniture, toys etc. to donate PLEASE CONTACT ME A.S.A.P. Please also note: any items you donate are just that A DONATION, I am not selling anything for your profit, I'm not even selling it for my profit. If you would like to donate your time to come down and help us out (this Sunday) that would be appreciated as well. As of tonight, Monday, I am on the hunt for a place to hold this. If you know of anywhere, or anyone who will DONATE their facilities for me to use please contact me A.S.A.P. I am not making a dime off of this, 100% of funds raised are being directly donated to the family to assist with burial costs of the children. Not many people have life insurance policies on their children, and it costs about $7,000 to bury someone properly.

I may not be able to raise much, but anything will be helpful and it's all that less for the family to have to worry about in a time when they need to mourn and heal and not worry about finances. Call your friends, call your family I'll take ANYTHING except underwear 'cause I am not handling dirty undies!

I will keep everyone updated as more information is available.

Thanks guys any assistance you can offer will be extremely helpful, and wish me luck!

(Sorry for posting this here, but I just wanted to get the word out....and if you all don't mind it being here, is it possible to get it stickied? Thanks )

I understand wanting to keep it serious, however then you really should have just put prayers requested in the title rather then the Free sex I mean your just opening yourself up for the comments.

As for donations for the garage sale, im sure i can dig up a few things and would be happy to get rid of them and if it helps the cause even better yet.

I would love to help, but all my **** is in storage cause I am moving. Could I donate money?

FYI: If you contact WDIV, you can set up a account were people can call the station to donate money toward the family of the children.

yes you can donate money. There has been a fund set up through St Clair County banks, I am going to contact the banks today to inform them of what I am trying to do and who donations need to be payable to if it's done via personal check. Otherwise cash will gladly be accepted as a donation.

Anything you guys can come up with will help whether it's a donation, items to sell or just your helpful hands the day of the sale.

THANKS EVERYONE! I hope this all works out the way I'm planning.

The three children who passed in the fire were Kristen 13, Tyler 6, and Ethaniel 3.

Kristen & Tyler were the son and daughter of the family, and Ethaniel was their grandson. The step-father Randy, is a very old friend of my dad's. I've known him since I was little. He's a really great guy which should be apparent from his selfless attempt to go back into the burning house to try and rescue the children. When he realized he wouldn't be able to save them, he tried to stay in the house with the children, so they wouldn't have to die alone. Thankfully, they managed to get him out.

Re: Please read Family in need

I think I may have some clothes I could donate, possibly some other stuff. Most of the stuff i don't need is at my parents house in NY though. Check with fire halls and VFW type halls. I am sure you could find one that would let you use a room for free of charge.

The Canup Family Funeral Expense Fund drop it off at the hotel, or PM me with your name & a # I can reach you at

If you prefer to donate cash, again PM me, with your name, & a # I can reach you at.

Re: Please read Family in need

Another update...

Concorde Inn, as previously stated, has donated their prominade, and tables, they are contacting their food service co. to have them donate coffee and cups, Dunkin' Doughnuts is donating 4 dozen free donates...the donation list goes on and on....

So spread the word, refreshments, and lots of stuff to buy this Sunday, February 1st, at the Concorde Inn, in Clinton Township. It's east access of I-94, on Gratiot just south of Hall Rd. on the West side of the street. Sale hours are from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

There is a great possibility that I may be able to get the Sheriff's Dept. to be a central donation drop off, I have to double check on that in the morning.......

As far as donating stuff for the sale, do you have somewhere to take donated clothes, etc. in advance so they can be sorted, priced, etc?

Thank you, it's appreciated...!!

As far as where to take donations....for now, PM me and give me a # to reach you at and we can make arrangements. I called nextel and had an alternate line added to my existing service to give out to the public for information, I should have it by the AM. For anyone who may require additional info in the meantime can email

canupfamilyfund@hotmail.com

I have to call the Sheriff back tomorrow to see about using the Sheriff's Dept. on Elizabeth as an official "Donation Drop off Center" until Sat. evening. From there I will be picking up the items. I'm planning on renting a room at the Concorde, (providing I get a decent rate) on Sat. and staying the night there....Sorry guys, no kegs...but I will be sorting and pricing things. If anyone wants to come by and help...THE MORE THE MERRIER!! Feel free to bring beverages, just nothing crazy...THIS IS NOT A HOTEL PARTY BY ANY MEANS, and I most certainly do not want to upset the managers considering how generous they have been thus far. If I do not get a room at the Concorde, my boss has offered my office as a temporary holding ground for me to use this weekend to get things together. It's right at Hall & Groesbeck.

Additionally, a flyer has been made and just needs to be finalized, once it is available I can post it, or you can email me for it and I will send it over for you to pass around. I am tentatively having about 500 of these made, you may see them around town.

I apologize for the chaotic-ness in my posts, I'm trying to do a few months worth of work in just a few days. Please, just bare with me. I can not thank all of you enough for your support, it means a lot to me and after speaking with the family this evening, I know it means the world to them. They're all doing as well as any one could expect in this situation, and they all send their biggest Thanks to everyone!
