New to Grand Rapids

How's it goin everyone,

My name is Frank, and I'll soon be moving to the Grand Rapids area of Michigan and I thought I would say hello, and perhaps get to know a few of you and how the riding is in the area.

I'm 34 and I've been riding on and off for about 8 years now. I know, I know, I'm not that young anymore but I sure love the thrill I get from sportbikes. I own a gsxr 600 and pretty much ride the hell out of it every chance I get. I'm not ready to retire to a hardly ableson yet.

I don't do much stunting, but I do love to get my knee down in the canyons and at the track. I love the speed.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that there are many sportbike riders out in Michigan, and perhaps when I finally get my *** out there, ya'll can introduce me to sportbiking Michigan style.

Adios amigos.

welcome. But your best bet is to check out the grand rapids riders. I doubt many of DSR will head out that way since it is a 4 hour drive for us. G.R club seems to be some cool guys though

Hey thanks guys. I'm looking forward to the move. Word around the campfire is that there is a track around 20 minutes from Grand Rapids. I'll either be in heaven or broke.

I'll hit up the grstreetriders website once it goes back up.

What's the five-0 scene like? I heard that a buddy got pulled over because 'if he was wearing leathers, he must have been going fast'. Whatever.

Also, is there a place the sportbikers hang out, talk ****, and network? Met alot of riding buddies that way as well as places to get the bike worked on, painted etc etc...

As far as what I hear about the weather... probably be in storage for 6 months out of the year.

My job is transfering me to Grand Rapids. I've been talking to a buddy that works in Grand Rapids and from what she's been telling me, it's a great place to have a family, and the pictures of the countryside are absolutely beautiful.

But honestly, I'm just really really sick and tired of this over-taxed, over-credited, neo-neighbor, ******* infested, southern california area. (end rant)
