sorry man, i guess i was a little drastic
what i want everyone to see is that here, in michigan, police now recieve a portion of the collected fine, and tax on license points. if police agencies now can recieve money for tickets, wont they write more tickets? i'm not a business major, but i'm sure they will. and its no coincidence noone was notified that the legislature had passed these taxes, on the people, without telling them. seems kinda wrong, to me.

I hear ya, but if you play, you pay.
This money sounds like it's going some where that it's desperately needed. My sister who lives in Clawson is in jeopardy of losing her local police department due to the city's lack of funding, leaving the Oakland County Sheriffs to patrol the city. If somebody gets justifiably popped for doing a wheelie, and it helps keep cops on the streets for times when you really need them, then I gotta think that's a good thing.
(I'm a husband and a parent; guess that's becoming apparant)

Holy $hit...that's insane....
Some of Erics info was in accurate....for the no proof of insurance...it's only $300 if you had no insurance on your vehicle...if you can show proof in court that you had insurance prior to the stop it's $45 dollars...not $300 I can't pic apart everything on that info but it's not all accurate...some news stations reported on incorrect info. But yes the fines are more if you screw up.
