Need Advice

hey guys remeber back at the open house when i crashed the fifty. well after, i went to the hospital just to see if i was ok, cause the back hurt a little. well i just got a call from the collection agency today and they said that i owed 196 dollars from that visit. they said that the insurance from the fifty needs to cover it, not my medical insurance! is that right? i told them that i am not paying it, cause fiftys do not have insurance. i dont know what to do????

Agree, then it would have been paid in full....I would suggest calling them and setting up a monthly payment plan if you can't pay it in full...

fifty's aren't street legal. If you do put insurance on it, it's probably only theft insurance, since you can't insure it for the streets.

primary should pay most (if not all I would think) and secondary (fifty insurance if it existed) would pay the balance. Who is your provider?

Your med insurance.
Your auto insurance
The owner's auto insurance
Your's or the owner's home owners insurance
It happened at a store, right? The store's insurance.

Thats the order that I would use.

Alright my take on this is, if you had medical insurance it should be covered, unless your personal medical policy specifically states it will not cover medical costs due to injury thats auto or motorcycle specific related. when you insure a car or bike, you are offered to buy a medical rider, generally people only take that if there medical insurance wont cover the risk, some medical insurance companies for instance refuse to cover you for motorcycle injuries because they consider them too high a liability, now most of your major medicals are not this way but i have heard of such policies.

Also with most insurance companies even if its a day or two after an accident if you feel the need to go to the doctore, dont schedule go instead to the emergency room, most policies then cover more and sometimes without a copay but check your policy first.

Lastly not paying the bills isnt an option you can basically take up to 30 days after you get the notice and call your own insurance carrier directly and fight with them about it, but if you dont get anywhere within 30 days you need to pay the bill yourself and then still continue the fight but instead for reimbursement, otherwise it will get placed on your credit record which can **** up your score and hurt you down the road.

Oh and by the way shifty, even if she "stole" the 50 you know with our court system she could still sue you, which is totally ridiculous but its true, i have a client who owns some land with a lake on it, he had some kids cut through his fence, and put there jetski on the lake, they were screwing around and beached the jetski and hit a tree. 6 mos later the guy is in court cause the kids are suing for damages, even though they were illegally on the property and they actually won damages, now this client has filed suit for destruction of property ( to replace the tree they damaged and fence they cut) and may or may not win but even if he wins he still loses after legal fees.

Just one more reasons lawyers rank with used car salesmen in the scum pile.
