DSR vs. REDLINE update

ATT: Tim & DSR

Re: Sports challenge

I’ll sticky this to several threads, so you may see it more than once.

Spirits livened for a challenge is great motivation for a sporting event. We succeeded in doing that and were happy to accept a friendly challenge with DSR. The high spirits have turned into such aggression it now seems inevitable to have an “accidental” injury while playing an unsupervised game. Nearly all members of Redline have dependents and financial obligations (more than a bike payment), which can’t be jeopardized should there be such an incident. On behalf of Redline I am now canceling the game on the 12th.

Alternative #1: An unsupervised softball match, set first week of November. Reasoning: Non-contact sport, preventing any accidents. Also it will allow the majority of members who are away on club functions, to participate in the event.

Alternative #2: A supervised football match supporting a children’s charity (hence our future members). This match will be around $30 per person. The money will go towards a T-shirt for each player, area rental, and $10 donated to a foundation such as MDA, St. Jude, etc. DSR and RSB will use their account funds to flip the bill for any remainder costs. If this is accepted I’ll talk to our sources to get a write up in the Detroit News, publicized by 93.1 and the best part…free pizza. Additionally, we can have an interview with channel 7 if we have a significant donation. That is definitely good publicity for both clubs.

I work for the Greater Detroit Newspaper Network. If you provide me a press release soon. I may be able to help you with coverage.

how is a supervised game any safer than a non supervised, a tackle is a tackle.
Nearly all members of Redline have dependents and financial obligations (more than a bike payment), which can’t be jeopardized should there be such an incident.
and nearly all DSR members have house and new car payments along with many other bills. You take a greater risk everytime you get on a BIKE

If this is accepted I’ll talk to our sources to get a write up in the Detroit News, publicized by 93.1
at 20 members per team at $30 per person minus the cost for the shirts and pizza is not a sizeable donation. At most "maybe" a sentence in the local news section, oh boy, we have done enough charity rides this season, and have enough press between local mags, company's, and national events.

If you guys don't want to play than DSR will just play each other.

Supervision and publicity prevents cockyness, and publicizes the a-holes for who they are, if they decide to be an a-hole. Without supervision, or playing in a non-contact environment, we will let your team "play with each other".

Glad to hear you contributed to a charity this season, maybe you can give to charity next year and play RLSB. When you are ready to schedule a game let me know and I'll plan ahead. As I said before "I" will arrange for a write up in the paper, publicity through 93.1, and with a min $500 donation we will get 5 seconds of fame on TV.

it seems to me like there is going to be a grudge match on the field instead of a football game . Since you don't want to play on legit terms, now it seems more likey that you are hiding your true intentions of the game.

ie, originally this was a playoff of clubs...no said sport was mentioned. Now that there are "rules, supervision, and worthwhile cause", you say we are weasels. What sounds more sneaky, having a publicized event, or calling someone a **** sucker and then saying you'll play fair?

dude it isn't legit your offer is just stupid I know someone who works at 93.1 and 5 secs of airtime isn't worth it. In tackle football people are going to get hurt with or with out ref's and tv camera's whatever. how many people get hurt every sat, or sunday during football season and there is a million tv crew radio stations ect. what is a ref going to do with his 150 pound ***, anything that could happen with out supervision could with. it seems people think I just want to fight someone for whatever reasons but if that was the case I would knock on your front door not hide it behind a football game. Think about what you are saying NO ONE can porevent all injury's there will be bruises and scrapes but nothing serious so whats the problem

Dude arguing with you is like going on a DSR Ride, we just sit around and go no-where. If you wanna play under the said terms, post it up. Until then...

it's not arguing, and again with cheap shots. Look you are the main reason the tension got so high, If you are scared than don't show up it's that easy, you want to play softball thats fine to but don't try to weasel out of the football game you are scared it's that simple no way around it no candy coating it you are scared
