Which Bike?
Which Bike?
My insurance is up and I think its time to get a new bike. I originally planned on the 03GSXR 750, which has zero zero zero for 6 monthes. Talked to the dealer and the 03, 636 cc ZX6R is 3.9, $39/moth for 24 monthes. Paying for it isn't the problem, its more of a question how much my insurance will be. Before that I need figure out what bike I should get. It would help if I could get some of your opinions on these bikes, power, fun to ride, stuntability, comfort, etc.
Also, if anyone cars I changed my name from Livoniarider to T&A.

Handling has to go to the Kawasaki. However everything happens so quick on the ZX because it’s so light you can get into some wicked tank slappers. This thing really needs a steering damper. Suzuki and the wonderful minds they have working there thoughtfully added one stock.
How do I like my ZX? I love it. The bike impresses me everyday. I can’t believe the power this thing has for a 600. In the brake department, the ZX reigns over the GSXR. The Suzuki’s brakes feel like a brick tied to a rope when compared to Kawasaki’s. The new four pot, four pad, radial mount calipers on the ZX are just simply amazing. These brakes are the best I have ever felt on a stock street bike.
Riding ergonomics goes to the Gixxer. While only a year ago all the popular magazines were calling Suzuki’s riding style aggressive, now seems like a couch when compared to the ZX. The new Kawasaki is geared more for the track, with the *** end sitting really high and the low mounted clip-ons, which in turn translates into wrist pain. Not so bad for short trips, but get really annoying on trips over an hour.
Suspension is a tough one. I really feel that the ZX is way over sprung. The bike is so stiff it gives very little feedback to the rider. I have been playing with it and things have started to improve. The stock shock is garbage. The thing over heats very quickly with aggressive riding and starts to fade quickly. I have an Ohlins on the way to take care of that problem. The forks are another story. I’m leaning towards Ohlins internals for those as well. The problem with the forks, is that it seems like there is too much compression damping or too much rebound damping. I haven’t nailed this down yet for a couple of reasons. One the problem only happens at the upper end of the fork stroke, and second because I haven’t really messed with it all that much. The Gixxer’s suspension is typical of what you would find on any of the GSXR fleet, soft.
So which bike is for you??? PICK THE ONE YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!! EVERY BIKE IS GOING TO FEEL DIFFERENT TO EVERY RIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight line speed is “about” the same, again leaning more towards the 750…because why??? Well more cc’s of course.

Buy an R6 and be done with it.. Pick up any cycle magazine and all they do is compare everything to an R6 - Why? It's the best. If you have a little more money get some mods or if you have more money than brains buy an R1... Unfortunately I don't have that problem so I will stick with my R6 for now..
