does anyone know what type of oil to use? I got a lockhart damper... thx

try using the blinker fluid from k-mart, i hear it works pretty good

I don't know about aftermarket dampers, but fork oil works for stock dampers. Start at 5w. Heavier weight oil gives you a stiffer damper, lighter oil gives you a softer damper.
