What changed on client side? Glad you found the fix, building/updating all VmWare ESX 3.0.1 to new ESX 3.0.2 today, so easy lab day all day.

plant managers home router's dns for some reason was mega overriding emcs, laptop worked @ home, but not at his. So just cheated and made a custom host file

 

Did the Plant Mgr. change anything like specific LAN/WAN config. I use a tool from IBM which is a network connection mgr. which can set all IP, DNS, WINS, etc on every network I have as a favorite.
I.E, so when I go to Motel 666, this tool changes my IP to DHCP, remove any proxy settings, sets my DNS/WINS to auto, etc, etc.

Just a thought, it might not be his router if it was working fine, might be his laptop.

 

na laptop worked fine when i brought it home, and i dont feel like driving out to oxford to play techie. host file was the easy button fix

Probably different ISP provider setting causing this, you use Comcast/WOW, and I know Comcrap is not out in Oxford, most use DSL lines.

Come'on Oxford isn't that far, now Portage Mi. is a far drive for just buying 1 stick frag, and arrow crab, while I got 4 bags a play sand.(I'd like to see how people interpret this convo)
