Turn signal integration with brake lights..

I'm considering integrating my rear turn signals into my brake lights, which I'm sure you guys have seen before. I don't know the specifics involved though.

Anyway, is it legal in MI? I know the answer doesn't really matter but I'm just curious if any of you are (or know) cops who can answer. All I can find is:

"Signaling Turns

Signaling is a courtesy and a legal requirement. Before stopping, turning, or changing lanes, see if it is safe. Then, communicate to other drivers by giving the required signal, either by using your left hand and arm or an electrical turn signal device. Start your signal at least 100 feet before you turn. In heavy traffic or on freeways, signal sooner so drivers behind you have time to change their speed or position. Make sure your turn signal light has stopped blinking after you have turned."

And that doesn't specify a whole hell of a lot.

it's not illegal in Michigan to ride w/o turn signals. However, it is enforced by most counties and or cities. there is a $45.00 Integrator kit that is sold at any Wal-Mart, or K-Mart's that'll work just fine, then the motorcycle acessaries stores also have a $60.00 unit that is made specificly for doing this.

I guess more specifically, my question: If you signal using your brake lights.. like one would do with the integrator kit, is that legal?

I know I don't need turn signals and I can wave my arms.

Turn signal integrators are legal in michigan. There are no set guidlines as of right now that say how you have to or what color signals have to be. BTW integrators are nothing more then the 15.00 trailer tow light boxes u can get at any parts or car supply store

I do not know what CBR you have...but I can tell you that the integrator sold at Kmart and stuff..used for trailer light stuff will not work on them....I know there is one sold for the CBR....but you will not get off cheap....

now as far as legal goes: I would not worry about it....I do not think signals or mirrors are mandatory in Michigan...

Dumba$$ car drivers don't see regular baseball sized signals when they're trying to rip by you and "prove how fast" their accord is. You think they're gonna be able to tell that a blinking brake light is actually supposed to be a turn signal? Might as well not even have them as far as that goes.

In the interest of not getting pulled over for stupid $hit, It's all up to the cop, but if that's the concern, I think you'd be safer with some mini-stalks. They look a lot cooler than the stocks, but still actually extend past the edge of the tail light and are the proper color. One less reason to stop and harass/ticket you over nothing.

I have also read that the cheapo integrators will not work, or will not work well. So I'll splurge for a quality package..

Go buy a car flasher from a auto parts store.
And if the bike comes stock with blinkers you have to have blinkers

Tim, what if I say:

"Officer, I bought the bike used in Pennsylvania and it came like this. I think it's stock, but I'm not sure." And then I would proceed to do this:
