i hear alot of people saying they live in detroit, finding out they live about 45 minutes to an hour from downtown, in your opinions what makes you a detroit native, living in detroit, 5 minutes, from , 8-10 minutes from, 15 -20, what if you live really close and work in downtown, or what if you live an hour away but still say you live in detroit, does it offend you local detroiters when someone says they are from Detroit and they live about 10-20 minutes from pontiac? or about 20 minutes north of mt. clemens???

If you live in detroit. But for out of town people I allways say I live just outside of detroit just to give them an idea of where the hell they are going and how far it is

I was born in Detroit....raised there until I was 10 lived in Roseville for a year and then moved to Chesterfield. I'd say I'm from Detroit.

since i was born in detroit i feel i am a native to detroit.....if you live in central michigan you dont live in detroit.....since im only 15 miles from the border i would consider myself really close to detroit.......i hang out down there all the time so...whatever....thats my .02

What makes you a detroiter wizz. You put on one board you are from Detroit, and on another that you are from Oxford. I am from Lake Orion and I would not say I was fron Detroit. I may say I am from the Detroit area, but not from Detroit Directly. Now I was born, and raised in FLINT so I am a transplant anyway.
