just great!!!!!!!

well here is the problem....my second gear is on its way out....i need to fix it....

so what are my options can i fix it myself??? is there someone out there that can do it....

yesterday i clutched up a 2nd gear whoolie and thats when **** went bad.....now when i taper off the gas in 2nd there is a bad sound of metal on metal....only in this gear though...maybe very faintly in third not sure. either way i need a new 2nd gear or entire trans.

any help would be great, im going to look around today but if somone has had this happen to them it would be great to hear what you did. either that or some links to people that can help.

i have heard this is a common prob for the 99 r6 and i just hurried it along with the way i ride. oh yea btw my bike has 14,000 miles on it

sounds to me like a shift fork. and while your in there you should send off the gears to get them under cut. But like everyone is saying, just get a new motor. This summer you should be able to find them cheap in the junk yards curticy of Biker Boyz. LOL
