heres some of the email us lucky (lol) employess got from tim donahue the ceo of nextel this morning:
"Today, a new chapter in Nextel's history will begin, as we have announced
our intention to merge with Sprint Corporation. For more than ten years, the
people of Nextel have blazed new trails of innovation and opportunity in the
telecommunications industry - changing how people and businesses use
technology to communicate. We are now poised to continue that proud
tradition as a larger, stronger company with the resources and talent to
transform our vision of a wireless future into reality for millions of
wireless consumers."
The new company will be called Sprint Nextel, and the merger is expected to close the 2ns half of 2005.
