man i did 10 years in the Navy, got out in the summer of 2007, and there were companies lined up looking to fill positions. Military experience puts you over a LOT of people in the job market. We had reps from Military recruiting firms Bradley Morris and Lucas Group stop by during my transition class and I used them to do one on one interviews with big companies. Hit them up right now if you can and ask them how the market is. They help military for free.

And STAY AWAY from recruit military.com. I went to one of their career fairs a few months ago just for ***** and giggles, and it was more like a science fair of companies taking stacks and stacks and stacks of resumes from hundreds of people. Bradley Morris and Lucas will set you up at a conference in a hotel, interviewing ONE-ON-ONE.

I interviewed with Texas Instruments when I was in Virginia, they offered to fly me out here to Texas for an on-site tour and final interview, right there on the spot. I was like hell yea! They payed my plane ticket, hotel, rent a car and gave me 200 dollars cash. I was happy to land that job but always keep options open.

 

oh yea one more thing, if u broke any bones or got fucked up at all doing anything while in, make sure its in your medical record. even if you broke a bone on a motorcycle or whatever. MAKE SURE you APPLY for DISABILITY on your transition out. I got 30% rating from a few broken bones i had while I was in the service, approved by the VA in black in white. Thats almost 400 dollars per month free forever.
