Re: The bullshit thread.
Is that the 4 inch tru tungsten? I have the bigger one in the golden tilapia and it's pretty fun to throw. I actually bought is at the triton dealer after the 4th day Elite series weigh-ins and had Ish sign the cover for me.
I use Power Pro 65lbs braid with the expensive ones. I don't trust anything else. Even though heavy mono is a recommend line to use on swimbaits, i just don't trust it.
It's definitely the most versatile swimbait I have purchased. It swims like a real fish. Wake it, sink it, retrieve with throwing 180 degree turns in the mix. I usually keep 1-2 tungsten ***** in it. On windy *** days, when trying to swim it in deeper water around trees on secondary flats i put 3-4 tungsten *****.

so go with a heavier line huh? thats what i was thinking, i need to get a heavy action pole though. my only true bass rod i have right now is a med-heavy shimano
and have you used floro?? i hear its more abrasive resistant but i dont know if its really worth it
you tell me when bro, im always down.
dont think ive forgot about you lb
Re: The bullshit thread.
yeah, don't forget to buy your tickets!
50, Flouro is good cuz it sinks. But not trust worthy with anything heavier than a worm with my experience. Last thing you wanna see is your line snapping on the cast and watch your swimbait fly 100 yards never see again.
I've never snapped off a heavy anything with 65lbs braid. 30 lbs will snap, been there done that...same thing with mono. I've pulled trees out from 30 ft water with a jig and 65lbs braid.
Flouro is an good all around line. I like the Vicious 17lbs line and the Trilene. Sinks really fast, and barely has any stretch.

Re: The bullshit thread.
cool...
what action rods do you use for swimbaits?
man i hooked into the biggest damn bass ive ever hooked into earlier. and lost the mother ******... not once.. but twice... i had the hook buried a lil too deep into the frog and missed her..
she had to of gone 7-8... when i set the hook it felt like i set it into a ****** log. then i saw her come up..
i need a ******* heavy action rod

Re: The bullshit thread.
I've been using allstar pro series rods. 7' heavey fast action and a carrot stick 7'11 heavey fast. I use the carrot stick for the heavy swimbaits but it's still not enough. It's actually a cranking rod but I use it for that and bigger swimbaits. My first swimbait rod will be an okuma. They're decently priced at $119.99 but haven't got around to buying one yet. That's the best deal in a low cost rod from all the reviews I've read.
