It's cool what they do with those trucks but I have no desire to go fast in a big *** truck. Cars are so much more fun and they don't handle like a truck...lol

My friend was hitting 12.6's with another turbo, computer, bigger intercooler, exhaust, downpipe, boost controller pushing 20 lbs, and a few other mods when he bought his new STI a few years ago. Other than that, your gonna have to do a lot more to break that 1/2 sec to hit 11's. At least from my experienced when being around helping him install that **** then going to sa raceway.

 

And his motor would detonate at 22-28 pounds. It was weird. He would set the boost to 20 and a lot of the times it would run more and detonate. Then he sold it at 30,000 miles cuz the motor was knocking..lol

No, I would rather have a car that handles good then a truck that goes fast in a straight line. Plus my subaru can go through **** that half the 4x4's in town get stuck in. Kevin was there to witness that on cr318 when we went rallying in the mud..lol

Boost controllers on a subaru do nothing but **** **** up. You can go 12.6 in an sti with nothing but a turbo back exhaust and a good tune. The reason your friends car was running more than the set boost is because subaru's have a bad tendency to boost creep. Without a proper dyno tune and sometimes porting the wastegate as well you will get boost creep.

Sammy, what's the deal with the GTR? Are getting one? I saw one a few weeks ago and it was sick seeing it in person.

That's gonna be sick. I don't know if I am going to do the turbo swap in my car anyway. It's such a big risk with the crappy subaru 5 speed.

 

i really cant believe that transmission cant handle 300hp and probably only 290 ft/lbs of torque.... the t5 in the camaro was rated to only handle 265ft/lbs but i managed to keep it together with around 400 ft/lbs

 

The subaru 5 speed is garbage. Sure it would probably be fine if I take it easy but I really don't want to destroy the transmission in such a new car. MZM even said that with that much power they have had numerous car break the tranny on the dyno.
