Yeah that thing looked pretty sweet. I'm going to have to do a ton of fab to my subframe tho to keep it in one piece. I've already fucked it up pretty good. I'm pretty sure I'm going to just build my own. If it turns out shitty tho I'll def be calling OMR. I need a welder here tho. I can't be running home every time I break something.

 

yeah you need to weld up some braces in that **** man.. its just gonna keep gettin worse

 

I'm thinking about cold fusion on the sides. Steel plates, but where I expanded the metal already I need to grind it out, straighten the frame and then fill in the missing metal. Only way to do that is a welder. I found a MIG machine on craigslist just like the one at home for 550. Thats more than I can afford right now but just a couple hundred more than a new subframe. I'd rather just fix what I have so that it doesn't break again.

**** man, I was just looking at Tractor Supply and I can get something with a nice warranty and hot enough to weld anything I will be fooling with for 170 - about 270 brand new. I already have a 6 foot tall compressor from there. Its strong as hell and works like a . All I'd need is the Argon bottle and aluminum wire. That's gotta be cheaper than a coupla subframes.

argon bottles are on sale at harbor freight right now... and as far as the wire, i believe you can use flux cord

dont.... went out 10min into welding my upper...

you gotta keep the psi at 3psi... if its one psi too low the element will burn out.. one psi too high and it wont melt the plastic...

I need to weld my tail section. Well, in a few places, lol. How well does it hold up, and is it even worth it without a tail saver?

 

It works great. I rebuilt all the plastics on my f4i and ryan's 929 with it. One way to strengthen that gsxr subframe is to run flat stock from your rearsets to passenger pegs
