I am fairly new to doing wheelies and I was wondering if anyone with a newer R6 could take me out sometime and show me some tips on how to get up at highway speeds (50+ mph). And no need for smart *** remarks. I know how to wheelie somewhat, I just want someone with the same bike to give me some pointers...

Start in 2nd gear and clutch it up from 30mph. More you practice, the more you will feel the timing on popping the clutch with the right rpms.

The best and easiest way to save yourself from totalling a new bike is to learn rear brake control/balance point on a 50 or a 4 wheeler. Once you get that, being on a big bike is a breeze.

 

just rev that **** to 15 grand, hold it steady and drop the goddamn hammer.

 

well me and a few buddies were practicing on the way to bike night... got the hang of bringing it up, but I havent learned to keep it steady yet. I was chasing the wheelie

 

****.. if you can get it up you're golden. Just practice giving it slightly more gas when bringing it up to bring the wheelie higher in small increments. Baby steps. When you get there, you'll know it. It'll feel floaty and the rpms will stay steady. I strongly suggest you take sambo's advice and learn some brake control on a small and slow dirtbike or 4wheeler. It'll save your *** and your bike when you get in an oh **** situation.

And... avoid chopping the throttle on 1 wheel at all costs. At highway speeds, chopping the throttle is about the best way possible to throw your *** into the wobbles which will end up in an tank-slapper and or wreck if you're a noob.

 

Ya I have been doing some practice on a 50cc when I can but the bake brakes doesnt work. I live near a pro stun-rider (Tim Barnes from Freestyle Ingenuity) and he said he's gonna take me to a lot on his stun bike and show me brake/throttle control on a big bike...

 

dallas has bad air for wheelies ... bad air/ fuel mixtures.

np, i suggest bringing your own bottle of oxygen ... people think NOS is where its at ... they have noooo idea what some PURE O2 will do for your motor and wheelies. best bet is to jack it from the dentist's office ... and while you're in there, grab me some NOS. thanks.
