Reliant Center Street Freestyle -Jan 22

January 22nd US Freestyle competition at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX

Saturday night January 22nd, 8 of the U.S.’s top street freestyle riders will be competing for a $10,000 purse inside of Houston’s Reliant Stadium. The event is sanctioned by Clear Channel's XSBA and will be held in conjunction with Clear Channel's Freestyle MX program. It will also include Motard Fiddy (50cc) races, and Shifter Kart races.

This event is invite only and there will be representatives from Clear Channel's Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour (formerly Gravity Games) attending the event.

Due to time and space restraints, the opportunity for open qualifying sessions for other riders did not present itself as a feasible option. The riders were chosen based on prior involvement in the XSBA, availability, commitment, and overall riding capabilities. Many capable riders were discussed, however the final 8 competitors that were chosen are as follows:

‘Crazy’ Dan Jackson - (2003 XSBA National Champion)

Patrick Stephens Freestyle

Tony D Freestyle

Chris ‘Teach’ McNeil

Ronnie ‘The Hitman’ Hurst

Grant Sunday KC's Most Wanted

Warren James

KaneOne

This event will follow XSBA & US Freestyle rules. The schedule of events is as follows:

Please come out to support the Sportbike Freestyle riders. This is an important opportunity for the sport as a whole, and everyone needs to make a positive impression on all those attending. There are event promo parties on Friday night, and Saturday group rides to the event being organized, as well as an after party being organized for Saturday night, with more info to come on those aspects soon.

We would hope that everyone who can make it, will attend, and that everyone talks it up and creates as much buzz as possible. Remember, this is an opportunity for EVERYONE involved in the sport to help push it to the next level. We would like to see thousands of Sportbikes in the parking lot to show the AST / FMX reps that Street Freestyle deserve a chance in the spotlight!

Unfortunately, due to restrictions beyond our control, there will be no open riding areas at the Reliant Center, except for the competitors in the event. We are trying to find a local spot for riders to hang out and stunt during the day on Saturday off the Reliant Stadium grounds. If anybody can help with this, please PM or email Thomas Evans or Chris McNeil.

sounds good. I've already made plans and will attend. I have a couple questions though.. Are there going to be secured areas to park? cause houston is ghetto as hell and I am not leaving my bike anywhere unless there is secured parking with machine guns and everything. If there arent gonna be guys with machine guns then let me know.. cause I will drive the truck..

lol houston aint that ghetto. reliant should be ok for the bikes, i mean, its gated parking, but id prolly bring the truck, and see if u could keep the bike somewhere for that nite. north side of houston tends to be the more ghetto, well really, it just depends on where u go. down where mekrew and i live, its not bad really. just kinda matters where u go i suppose.
