Saturday

What time do we plan on meeting up on saturday? I assume that we should get there early to make sure that stuff is all set up and ready.

How about an afternoon ride before we go up there?

Let me know what you think

I've got a canoe trip saturday morning and afternoon. I'll get back by at least 6. I'll probably just have all the stuff loaded up and drive to the show.

Re: Saturday

What happened to your bike? and where did you buy it at? Sounds like you are getting the shaft if your bike is not over a year old.

bought it @great mistakes-they flat out told me it wasnt warrenty work when nobody knows for sure whats wrong so I took it to townline.he`s at least gonna look @ it before he says its screwed. got 2 months left on the factory warrenty.thought about getting Y.E.S. but what the hell for if nuthins covered anyway? they can just say-oh you must ride in a way thats abusive to you`re bike...thanx for the warrenty$$$!! anyway he thinks I might have a bent shift fork.(2nd gear acting real weird). if it looks like I been jammin through the gears Im screwed defect Im good still dont seem right though-10k on a racebike(basicly) n they expect me to ride it like a harly yeah i ride theshit out of it wadya spect?

Re: Saturday

Bullshit that isn't covered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they play that BS with you ask for the Yamaha Reps number. I had my Clutch plates replaced under warrenty though it was done by the dealer I buy my bikes from. I would never buy anything from Great Mistakes and i know every sales guy in there. How can they EVER prove you were jamming gears they can just say you were. So I would stick to my guns and tell them to prove you were jamming gears. Even jamming gears shouldn't do that I know guys that never use clutchs to shift on R1 and they haven't had that problem yet.

By the way what oil were you using? How often do you change it?

yeah I had a clutch warenteed a while back n they were ify about that-I think maybe the shift fork was the problem all along (if that is the prob) cuz they said everything was within tolerances-but they "goodwilled" me the clutch anyway.I was using spectro 10/40 synth. but since the clutch I put 20/40 I guess Its better cuz it runs cooler? cant be much cooler(Iwouldnt think) but thats what they told me. bike has 7000 miles n 4 oil changes so far, wasnt planning do do another till next year

Re: Saturday

Clutch plates, tires, oil, brake pads, etc. are all considered "Normal Wear" items and are not covered under any warranty except for extreme circumstances. Although, my brother in law got Harley to replace his clutch since it was destroyed and the bike had under 300 miles on it, along with no other wear on the tires, belt, etc. It was clearly a manufacturing defect in that case.

Re: Saturday

The Blackbird fouled its plugs after only 4000 miles, which greatly concerns me. Anderson's (not the dealer I bought it from) replaced them as part of the annual service and charged the labor to the warranty, but I still had to pay for the plugs themselves since they are "wear items". I do intend to take this up with Honda, though. Could be a bad sign of things to come.

Or maybe I just need to get some more air in there or buy a PC...
