Re: GIXXER RECALL (Finally)

The shops get a dye from Suzuki that they have to spray on the weld points of the front half of the frame - if it turns red then that indicates week spots or cracks (hidden or seen) and the frame gets replaced. If it doesnt turn red they are bolting on a 2oz support under the frame (towards the front). They have to relocate the horn and add spacers for the side fairings to bolt back up...

Re: GIXXER RECALL (Finally)

So no help for my cracked K6 600 then?? Well.. that's bullshit!!!

The ****** majority of the probelmatic bikes are the 600-750's
IF it's the same bike, same years, only smaller displacement.. Then what makes them think that the frames are any better on the 600s??
I'm pretty torqued over that ****!

Re: GIXXER RECALL (Finally)

thats really cool. well not that the frames are ****. but that they are doing somthing about it. better late than never. There are even reimbursing people that have replaced frames. It takes a big man to do that for unwarranted behavior or use that is not designed into the motorcycle. Suzuki aint as bad as i thought. Kudos

So racing it on the track is unwarranted behavior or use that is not designed into the motorcycle? that would be news to me because last i new they were designed to be raced and look at the link at top of page and there is a pic of a gsxr 1000 frame brake that happened at a track day

Re: GIXXER RECALL (Finally)

Yes race bikes/track bikes are included in the recall, however they are not replacing or reimbursing for anyone who's frame broke in a crash. I can understand them not wanting to set precedent that they will make bikes to withstand crashes...But if the failure causes the crash...well shouldn't that be a little different?

LINKY http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...?article=35460

There is a link (pdf) to the actual recall letter going out to customers at the bottom of the page. FYI

waiting for dozens to be serously hurt, some have been killed and many more who had to pay for frames out-of-pocket for what was a design/mfg problem? Suzuki waited well past the time they knew about the problem and had a slew of lawsuits to do anything. yea, there a great company...(sarcasm)

They arnt as bad as you thought- they are worse...

see you cant do that because im not gay like you are so I dont know what to tell ya, oh and another thing I was just saying I would get rid of it because i wouldnt feel safe riding it man you need to chill out ...you are being immature for real grow up and I do agree with ya it is BS they are not doing anything for 600/750s hence the reason I would get rid of it but your too busy with your head up your A** to realize that, have a nice day and put your bike on E-bay and quit bitchin
