seceratary of state will not renew my TMP I asked why and they said because I have had enough of them that now I have to take riders safety ...I am not aware of any certain number of permits they can issue you ...It didnt say it in my book that I got from them ...I tried to tell them ....they didnt want to hear me but anyway now I am trying to sign up for riders safety .....hopefully I will pass because I suck at tests and have that mental block about the cone weave and the right hand u turn they made me do at the skills course

 

 

yeah its def not hard.....worst part was the fig 8 inside the box but it wasnt even worth alot of points, that course was really not that bad at all

 

I should have taken care of it . I called to sign up and left a message, just waiting to hear back. good thing is I will be able to take the time off work to do this without any BS

 

Don't you have to have a Temp in order to take the class?

 

You need to get a smaller bike, like a ninja 250 or something to take the test on. It makes it easier for a newer rider than a bigger liter bike. That may help ya a bit.

Lovin the Mclovin:YEAH But seriously I have heard that they have Ninja 250 bikes there for students to use. Witch is what you used last time, But you jumped off your Gixxer 6 right to the Ninja 250 and I think that hurt you cuz It can take a little time to get oriented to a different bike sometimes. (Unless your Matt, then you can go from a 929 to a R6 and wheelie for Miles anyway) But at the class You will get to spend some time on the 250 to get used to it before it counts for anything. Besides if you pay the money ,dont they pretty much Garanteee you'll pass?

There are a couple of places in MI that offer the road test that will rent you a scooter 125CC in order to take the test.

Besides my mom passed on a full dresser Harley that weighs 800 lbs. You should be able to do it. The worst case is that you have to take the safety course.

 

Kim took a class and it really was good for her confidience and skill... and they give you honda rebels... not too many classes will even teach you on a sport bike... it will be a cruiser they give you.. heck the course I took they gave borne, niner and I mopeds... funniest thing ever

 

I learned on the city streets of Flint between potholes and gunfire I was gettin pretty good - But nuthin could prepare me for............

 

Try Nord ride. Some times I see bikes out there in the parking lot on Sundays. They look like they are doing the road test. Harley dealer ships have that Riders Edge. But It is like $300 bucks I heard. They supply the bikes. "Buell Blast".

If you can't pass that **** on your own bike you shouldn't be on the road

 

I don't think you need be able to weave between cones to just cruise around on a bike. I was at the test the last time Rob took it and the course was not easy for someone just starting for sure, esp. if taken on a sportbike which I think are harder to handle at slows speeds than many other bikes. I've been on a motorcycle since I was 5, but there are many of folks just learning. Just need to get him out and lay some cones down and practive a few weeks before the test to get the confidence up. You'll probably never need to weave between cones again in your life, but at least you'll pass the test.
