I has recently become evident to me that some people may be misinformed and or confused about my injuries. So ,for the record...All of my extremeties are still attached to my body,what I lost was my right elbow. there was compound fractures to my arm.two bones that where sticking out dragged on the concrete for about 200 yards so there is alot of bone missing.I've been through four surgeries on it. What is missing has been replaced with metal parts. There was also a bone that was shattered, they where going to put in a cadaver bone ,but it didnt quite fit right. So there are twelve screws holding that one together.In order to get to it the way they needed to they had to cut through a bone to get it out of the way,there is a wire through it and cinched to hold it together on that one.Sort of hard to explain. there was also alot of seriously painfull road rash as well but that is the last of my worries (pretty much healed up now).The Doctor's goal is 80% recovery in regard to range of motion.(my personal goal is 90% or better).I cant move it very much right now so it seems I've got a long recovery ahead of me.I can do palm down with it but I can't do palm up. It sucks. No one is willing to venture a guess as to how much strength I will get back in my arm so I just have to wait and see. I also damaged a nerve that runs through there so my pinky finger and that general side of my hand are knumb.I can move it ,just can't feel it. I am now in therepy. they had me squeeze a grip with my left and my right. I got 160 pounds on the left and 18 pounds on the right, so yeah I lost alot of strength in my right hand. I hope this clears up any confusion among our riders; I know things can get unintentionally messd up by the time somthing is told so many times. Oh yeah,I WAS wearing Joe Rocket jacket and pants. THANX To everyone who has been concerned and prayed for me I DO appretiate all you have done for me.God has given me a second chance to be a good Husband, Father, and Friend.I'm not taking it for granted.God BLess.

 

I never met you in person but you seem to be in good spirits, but I was restricted to a wheelchair for 6 months after a motorcycle accident so I have a idea of what you are going through. Get Well, be strong!

 

Sounds like your healing up. I might try to stop by and say hi this weekend with a few guys. It's amazing what the medical field achieves now-ah-days. I just got back from the hospital, my dad had by-pass and a valve replacement today. Pretty serious crap, he is out of surgery and doing well. Repleace his valve with a pig valve of all things. Seeing that today and what they did with what was left of your elbow is amazing. Give me a call if you need anything Bill.
