Re: musta ticked off the wrong people???

Appears that I have to find others to ride with this season, being an owner of five foreign vehicles (three T's and two P's ) and a foreign bike (Y'a).
Also have a domestic built product (Chevy), I'm cognizant of the reliability issues and dealership prowess.
Not wanting to be obstrepereous or perceived as polemic, I hope that everyone has enjoyable times on their bike, no one is injured and the group evolves to being inclusive rather than divisional. Oliver

P.S. This reply was intended for the thread "Well I bash em enough..."

O.K. its not a joke, there were several genral comments made about people who buy imports being uneducated.-fools ect. I think those of us who live and have lived in Flint all our lives percieve imports as the enemy, a place to point the finger of blame. when GM builds plants in mexico to save money -then quality goes kaput, they have created alot of there own problems yes but so does everyone in this biz they are still not playing on a level field.no matter how you look at it domestics are being set up to fail in a million diff. ways and are still rockin, making strides in spite of it all.people in this town have been taking pride in their work far to long to just watch our way of life walk away and not talk a little smack at the least. we have a strong sense of solidarity; and loyalty to our American auto industry around here and its being threatened. my parents worked for GM and so did their parents, untill 9-11 my goal was to get into skilled trades @ GM it's in our DNA around here. people will choose a vehicle based on thier own performance desires or requirements I guess it doesnt make them uneducated they just arent looking at the same picture of solidarity(yes theres that word again)that we are.but at the same time I bought a SUSUKI GSXR1000 cuz the AMERICAN equivelant doesnt even come close! IMO, but if it did then YES I would MUCH rather put my money into a domestic sportbike.

Reason: Too sensitive for riders in this area & not really motorcycle related.

It was the forum mod R1Dude that deleted it...

I guess I should have been paying attention to what was going on in that thread, I really didn't give it much of a read over...

Just because I don't see eye to eye with you on what you buy doesn't mean I have anything against you nor does mean I can tell you what to buy. In the end it is about who we are not what we drive. You choose the type of vehicles you like and I choose my type. If you want to know the funny thing in the day it was Ford vs Chevy. Now it is Jap. cars vs American cars.

So stop being that way MR O you know we all like you and your more then welcome to hang with us anytime anyday.

Re: musta ticked off the wrong people???

Yes I deleted it.........to many people (including myself) in the area of Michigan have been hurt, loss jobs and seen this state in total devastation due to foreign importing. Some people aren't as affected by it as others, so they don't either understand it or really given much thought to it because they are set on money or don't have familys to support. So why argue about it, it's a fact we have to live with. Good high paying jobs are now going to India, China or whatever................some people think maybe it's just their turn to enjoy the wealth. I find it hard to give up what me and my family have worked for our whole lives and will continue to fight it as long as I can...........nothing personal.

If GM went out of business I would lose my Job, my mom, my stepmom, my dad, my uncle, my aunt, my wifes dad, my wifes mom and about 90% of my friends also..........so this subject hits a little close to home.

Let's stop worrying about it and get ready for riding season.:YEAH
