Yeah there are a few thoerys on this and to be honest my next bike will be using the run it hard theory break in process. The one I currently have I broke in using Yamaha's method. I have 16000 on it and only changed 1 clutch which was my fault Drag Racing....

Broke my FJR in with those exact directions. 50K miles and it still did 3rd gear stand up wheelies.

 

ya know there just might be sumthin to that cuz I broke the r1 in by the book n i had alot of problems,thus- the move to suzuki...r1 had 27,000 miles on it when i sold it though:YEAH

 

My R1 has about 20K on it and have never had a problem at all.........I rode a wheelie out of the dealer parking lot, that was my break in.:YEAH

 

well, I was alittle to late for the twenty mile breakin thing but I went ahead n hit it pretty hard on seymore road on sat.:YEAH I think its safe to say this gixxer definatly pulls harder than my r1 did!

 

Should have gotten the 2006 R1, would have pulled you right off the bike.

 

Should of gotten the 2013 harley.... oh wait, it will be the same as this years model, and just as slow..

 

Thanks Billy for PC3 it works great.. definately feel a difference with even the map from PC with my pipe/air cleaner. Love it and the price too.

 

It should since it was rated at 20 more Hp then the R1 Stock.. Now like Dan said the current R1 would be a different story.

 

you can get an oem mount for your 06 gixxer 1000 to mount your hyper pro damper on your bike for 79.00 $.i just bought one for my o6 gixxer 1000 & it works great.if you want i can give the part # just let me know.it is super easy to put on.

 

That's not true, they added a different color to the line up for the 100th anniversery.
