Just a little idea for a thread, post up your three favorite charities that you like to donate too or volunter for. Try and only list permanent organizations. Sporadic funds, like fallen rider funds, don't really count.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and technology) Robotics. I donate my whole dammed winter on this program every year. I've also coacheds kids soccer, basketball, wrestling and hockey for free over the last 10 years if that counts for charity.

I like to donate time, that way I know where it's going. You give big checks to charity's like United Way and then find out later the head of the program has 15 houses and flys to Aruba every other week.

I play in the "make a wish foundation" golf tournament at work if that counts also.
